MAGResDIO Programmable High Speed Digital I/O PCIe Card
At a Glance:
Overview
The MAGResDIO is a high-speed Dynamic Digital I/O card that provides capabilities comparable to or better than high speed I/O products found in industry. The card compact implementation is based on Xilinx Artix FPGA series. The architecture provides the ability to operate independently of the host computer when running its proprietary internal code (MAGiCode™).
Features
The MAGResDIO provides real-time digital stimulus with 32 pins in a card. The card can function as an arbitrary wave generator or a pulse sequencer. As a pulse sequencer it can generate pulses down to 10ns widths and upwards of 20 years with 10ns resolution in a single command. The execution of the sequence can be triggered internally by software or a hardware external trigger. Pulse patterns can be up to 16384 steps in length.
Pulse Sequencer Programming
Using an innovative, state-of-the-art algorithmic sequencer, users can create loops, subroutines, branches and variable delays to manipulate output vectors. The sequencer commands is programmed using the included Magres Vector Editor with easy-to-use GUI interface.(Windows® only). This gives the MAGResDIO the capability to generate test vectors indefinitely at maximum test rates. Internal and external trigger and pause commands contribute to its versatility.
On-Board Memory
The on-board memory FPGA memory is utilized efficiently to provide the fastest programmable IO in industry which allows the user up to 16384 programming steps.
Compatibility
MAGResDIO operates in any half-size PCIexpress 1X slot that provides both 3.3 V and 5 V power supplies. Firmware can be upgraded directly from the host computer via PCIe or USB interface. The MAGResDIO operates on a TTL level 3.3V or 5V logic.
Optional Modules
The MAGResDIO can optionally come with a high-resolution DDS-based frequency synthesizer with programmable amplitude and phase. With the included MAGiCode™ the frequency generation can be synchronized with the pulse generation to provide an all-in-one control of test parameters.
Programming and Software
The board is supplied with 64 and 32-bit DLL drivers. Various examples provide access to the DLL from programming tools and languages such as LabVIEW, C/C++, Microsoft Visual Basic®, Python, and more.
Documentation includes on-line help and PDF User's Guide that includes instructions for installing, using and programming the board.
